Luz grew up in a community of Changelings who lived, openly, in their true forms and tried to keep their cultural heritage intact. It is because of this rooted up bringing that Luz is able to assume other roles so easily and use it’s ability to influence society. As a Changeling, Luz’ real identity is very private. It doesn’t matter to Luz which form she takes and she does not have attachment to specific aliases (on a personal level). Personal identity is a tool, which she uses to accomplish her goals. Luz travels extensively and maintains a pretty large network of contacts and influence across multiple kingdoms. Her strong Charisma comes from an intimate and natural understanding of different races mannerisms. Luz is a natural when it comes to understanding what influences people and events.
As a Spymaster, Luz tends to take on a number of well known forms that have influence within different kingdoms. Often times filling the role of the unassuming assistant or travel coordinator for a number of high ranking nobility. She will unobtrusively direct clients in many ways, including influencing their decision making process. In reality, Luz is increasing her understanding of what decisions are being made across the realm and growing her network of spies and connections. People tend to think that Luz has an almost magical ability to know what is going to happen but is usually because she really does already know. None of her employers or contacts know that they are dealing with a Changling; even Luz’ hired muscle. Luz has often been known to play many sides of a political issue to gain leverage and power for a new alias, or strengthen an old one.
Luz has spent a good amount of time in Aglarond and will escape to the wilds of Thay (as needed). She rarely spends time with the colony where she grew up and they no longer know where she resides or that she is even active in politics or the outside world. When Luz needs something, she will find you, not the other way around.
At heart, Luz is a good natured being. Most Changelings are not evil and only want to have peace and happiness. Many of her kind stay in a specific (non changeling) form their whole lives and live with the secret so that they are not hunted. Luz has grown weary of most people in general and considers it weak to be fixed to a specific culture or to give out her true identity. A lifetime of struggle and survival have hardened her to the ways of the world and travel and exposure to different cultures have made her realize that all living beings are imperfect and will eventually “blow your cover” if given the leverage.
Mannerisms and Appearance
Luz’ true appearance is fairly standard for a Changeling: Luz has uniformly pale skin with white tones, oversized sunken eyes with dark rings around them with a small nose. She is a dainty and about 5 foot 2 inches. She has light pale silver hair with hints of blue highlights. In a world ruled by men, she most often appears as a male in the form of one of her aliases for which she has spent years developing and has papers for all of them. When Luz thinks of the name of her aliases, she often has long winded descriptive names. This is odd, because changeling names are short and often seem more like nicknames than full blown names.
- Elias Thorpine (Honored – Straight Talking – Fair skinned – Human – Elias): Elias is a thin fair skinned human male that has a history of advising Nobles of Aglarand. As a Noble himself, he has a great influence on the local legal system and tends to associate with various judges and men of law. He is a member of various clubs and societies that are only available to men of wealth and renowned. He usually dresses in some form of noble clothing but is known for hunting and often has the look as if he has just come from a hunt of some type.
- Vernon Gathring (Decanus – fat – short – dangerous – human): Vernon Gathring is a Decanus of the Fourth Raider Force and has been known to be used as an intelligence officer within the ranks. When it comes to supplying equipment to men, getting information about troop locations or gathering general intelligence about men and woman of the various forces he is the go to guy for many of the military elite. His role as squad leader is a proxy role but his rank is far exceeded by his influence.
Other Alias include: various titled and guilded individuals (which I don’t have time to come up with at this moment). :)
